I arrive in Atlanta on the 31st August and start my visits after the weekend. I am delighted to be able to meet with colleagues from the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (CERT – Community Emergency Response Team), Points of Light, the American Red Cross, Georgia Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency, The Salvation Army (Georgia) and the officers of the Georgia VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters).

On Saturday 7th September I shall head to Clark Atlanta University to meet students who have signed up for the Campus CERT before taking the 3 hour drive south to Savannah to join the Chatham County Emergency Management Agency team who are running an outreach event that evening in the city.
